Tools and Data

Built on the RealWorld Electricity Framework, GridGuide helps provinces create the conditions to grow their grids into the abundant, reliable, and affordable systems needed in a carbon-neutral world.
Canada’s Electricity Pathways Dashboard is a forthcoming interactive tool on the Electrifying Canada website for exploring and comparing projections of electricity needs and grid buildout pathways.

It will bring together the latest as well as historical editions of utility and system operator forecasts, government outlooks, net-zero pathway studies, and other public modelling scenarios. Older editions will be kept where possible, so users can see how forecasts change over time.

At the national and provincial level, users will be able to explore a range of scenarios for electricity demand in an electrified economy and what each would mean for the grid. Users can also compare utility plans to forecasts and scenarios to see the extent to which they align. To note, the Transition Accelerator is not producing its own forecast or endorsing any particular pathway.

The dashboard tool will add new forecasts and studies as utilities, system operators, governments and researchers publish them.
